5 ways you can encourage staff to take higher level training….

Even when you have hard-working, enthusiastic staff at your business, they may be struggling to motivate themselves given the ongoing pandemic that has impacted us all. Staff training and development is essential to make staff members better at their jobs but it also has many benefits for the employer too.

So, how can you encourage your team to undertake further training?

1.Create a revision area or designate time for them to complete their assignments at home

Create a quiet area where staff can go to revise for exams or complete their assignments in peace.

2. Find out hopes for the future

Speak with all your employees to find out who has a strong desire to progress themselves further. If they aspire to progress in the business you can talk to them about taking a Level 3 qualification or working towards other management qualifications.

3.Celebrate success

Make a point of celebrating staff members who successfully complete their training. Showing this level of recognition will help other members of your team and boost morale.

4. Tell your staff what it means to you

Whenever you get the chance, be it in your one-to-one zoom catch-ups or when a new person joins your team, be vocal about how much you value people working towards higher qualifications and what a positive impact it has for the business.

5.Include training in objectives

When you set out objectives, get the staff member’s agreement to start working towards their next qualification. Having the goal down in black and white is a strong motivation to nudge them towards taking action.
