The Ladder of Opportunity
The Apprenticeship Levy is all set to go ahead in April 2017, just a few months from now and it seems like a good time to remind you all of the benefits the Levy will bring you. With the National Apprentice Week (6 – 10 March) being themed around a ‘Ladder of Opportunity’ to highlight the benefits for all young people irrespective of their background.
Designed to create 3 million apprentices by the year 2020 and will be in part funded by businesses who have a payroll of more than £3million per annum contributing 0.5% of that wage bill into a digital account. Businesses who take on 16-18-year-old apprentices will also have more support from funding allowance.
Pressure from the government to invest more in Human capital, believing in the development of vocational skills, increasing the quality of apprenticeships will give more back to the employer in return for putting time and effort into training apprentices. Just part of the reason this new Levy is being introduced.
