When you successfully complete your Intermediate Playwork Apprenticeship, you will qualify with a Level 2 Award in Playwork. You will also gain valuable functional skills, solid references, some great colleagues and positive experiences behind you.
As a playworker, your role could include any of the following:
- Contributing to the organisation of the playwork activities
- Planning activities with the children
- Providing play areas, materials and equipment
Assistant playworkers don’t just work in one area. A career in childcare could give you the opportunity to work in a variety of locations, including breakfast clubs, after school clubs, mobile play buses and holiday play schemes.

Who is this course for?
The Intermediate Playwork Apprenticeship is suitable for anyone aged 16 or over. You will be working with children or young people in a less formal or structured setting, rather than a school or nursery. For example holiday clubs, adventure playgrounds or youth groups etc.
- Level 2 Award in Playwork
- Get PAID whilst your learn
- Work a minimum 30 hours per week
- 20% off the job training
