Children and Young People’s Workforce Intermediate Apprenticeship
This is an opportunity to get paid whilst working towards a recognised qualification. The Intermediate programme provides the knowledge and skills required to work in a childcare setting at an assistant level.
It allows the apprentice to gain technical knowledge and real practical experience, along with functional and personal skills, required for their immediate job and future career with children and young people.
The course involves learning about all aspects of children’s care and development, with mandatory units which include; an introduction to communication, personal development, equality and inclusion, development and safeguarding. You will then also select some optional units.
You will spend time within a childcare setting gaining the practical experience required to work with children and young people. You will be assessed at your setting and will also complete written tasks to demonstrate your competence. You will be supported throughout the course by your assessor and also with the option of an online learning environment.
Offered as part of the apprenticeship is our Introduction to Childcare (ITC) course which is an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience prior to the start of your apprenticeship . This will provide you with underpinning knowledge arming you with First Aid, Food Hygiene and an understanding of Safeguarding.Enquire about this course
Who is this course for?
This course is for those of you wanting to pursue a career in childcare. It provides a recognised qualification and may enable progression onto a Level 3 qualification.
