You now have experience, first aid and introductory training under your belt… but what else is available to you? We have put together a helpful overview of just some of the courses we provide from full Diplomas, Short courses and Online bite-size courses.
Qualifications:
The first qualification we would recommend to all childminders is the Early Years Educator Level 3 Diploma, which will provide you with all the required knowledge and skills to progress.
If you already hold a level 3 or are looking into future opportunities, Aspire also provides a Level 5 Diploma for the Early Years Senior Practitioner. This qualification supports leadership and management skills in the early years and the knowledge and skills relating to the early years practice.
If you get to a point where you need additional support and are looking to employ an apprentice or assistant, check out our Becoming a childminder: Recruiting for help blog. Once you have employed an additional person, it doesn’t mean the training has to stop for you too! Aspire Training Team offers a fantastic Level 2 Team Leading Diploma or a Level 3 Diploma in Management. These qualifications will give you the tools you need to learn everything that you need on the job to develop your team leading and supervisory skills further. More than that, you will continually have the opportunity to practice and embed your new skills in a real work context whilst working and progressing in your team leading role.
Although these courses are not available for childminders to complete through an apprenticeship, funding may be available to support the cost of the course which is repayable in affordable installments once the earning threshold has been met.
