This First Aid Appointed Person Course is designed to educate a designated individual within an organisation about their responsibilities as a First Aid Appointed Person. It’s Endorsed by Skills for Care and is one of our shortest courses at just 20 minutes long for your convenience.
For many smaller low-risk companies, the legal minimum for first aid provision is to have someone in their company who simply looks after first aid – this is the First Aid Appointed Person.
Over 600,000 non-fatal injuries happen in the workplace each year in the UK – it is therefore essential that there is at least one person available at all times to deal with any potential accidents and injuries.
Our First Aid Appointed Person training programme explains exactly what the role of First Aid Appointed Person requires a member of staff to do, as well as introducing best practice in the event of an accident or injury at work.
It is intended that our programme is used alongside First Aid Requirements in the Workplace (including RIDDOR). This programme will indicate the need for a first aid appointed person, as well as explaining the benefits to your organisation. Free trial and online demo available.
This eLearning course only provides awareness education. Face to face training would be needed in addition in order to complete all-round skills and knowledge to be able to carry this forward practically in your organisation.
This training course is broken down into 2 sections:
Section 1: Health and Safety Requirements
This section looks at how the decision to have a first aid appointed person was made. It explains their role and duties. It looks at the accident record book, confidentiality, making sure all staff know how first aid is handled and it looks at what should be in the first aid kit.
Section 2: Dealing with an Emergency
This explains exactly what must be done in a first aid emergency situation. It tells the first aid appointed person what to look out for, so that they can tell the emergency services what they need to know and it explains how to call the emergency services. It encourages a calm, confident, assurance in the first aid appointed person – the last thing a casualty needs is to see someone panic and look like they don’t know what to do!
Printable Certificate
This First-Aid Appointed Person Training course concludes with a 10 question multiple-choice test with a printable certificate. In addition, brief in-course questions guide the user through the sections of the training and are designed to reinforce learning and ensure maximum user engagement throughout.
As well as printable user certificates, training progress and results are all stored centrally in your LMS (Learning Management System) and can be accessed any time to reprint certificates, check and set pass marks and act as proof of a commitment to ongoing legal compliance.
