How to Improve Focus At Work

It’s easy to get distracted and procrastinate when you have a long list of things to do. If you are finding it difficult to stay focused at work, then we have put together some simple ways to keep your focus on the job at hand.

  1. Keep your workspace organised: your desk is a reflection of your habits and personality. If it is cluttered, it may help to organise the space. Keeping your workspace clean and organised takes little time but can have a huge impact on keeping your focus and productivity intact.
  2. Create an hourly-work plan: Creating an hourly-plan is a great way to enhance the way you prioritise your workload. It allows you to plan for tasks that require more attention and tighter deadlines.
  3. Take short breaks: Sometimes, when you can’t focus on a task anymore, the best thing you can do is to take a break.  Sitting at your desk looking at the screen for long could lead to lethargy, fatigue, and headache. That’s why it is advisable to take short breaks after every 60 minutes of continuous work.
  4. Put your phone somewhere it won’t distract you: Your phone could be your biggest enemy while working. Constant beeps, Whatsapp messages, Facebook notifications could distract you and result in wasting your precious time. It’s understandable if employees are using their phones during business hours but it could become a big distraction.
