Level 3 Early Years Education Apprentice NAW Case Study – Lauren Stark

Why an apprenticeship?

Because I didn’t want to go to college and sit in lessons, so I started here as a level 1 and learnt on the job.

Tell me about your apprenticeship and what you love most about it?

Learning on the job, making relationships and bonds with the children.

What accomplishment are you most proud of and why?

Completing my level 3 because it has taken me 4 years to get to this point, I started as a level 1 student and progressed onto my level 2 and now at the end of my level 3.

In your opinion, what are the benefits of an apprenticeship?

Learning on the job, learning if you have a question, and you can ask your colleagues straight away.

What skills have you developed during your time as an apprentice?

Become more confident with people, bonding with children, meeting new people, and I can now cook a little bit even though I’m still terrible.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What are your future plans and aspirations?

I see myself working as a teaching assistant in a Special Educational Needs school.

What advice would you give to someone considering an apprenticeship?

Go for it, you are learning about the job, the children and a bit more about yourself as you do it.
