Looking Ahead – Childcare Apprenticeship

What can I do with an apprenticeship in Childcare?

This week is National Apprenticeship Week and we want you to make the most of it, so why not explore the countless opportunities that starting an apprenticeship can bring? Aimed to demonstrate the many benefits that an apprenticeship can bring, this year’s theme is ‘Look Beyond’ so we want to encourage people to look beyond right now and to the future.

Beginning a new career can be a daunting decision, which is why considering an apprenticeship can help. An apprenticeship is an excellent way to learn as it is an opportunity to earn whilst you learn. One of the many apprenticeships offered at Aspire Training Team is an Apprenticeship in Childcare.

There are so many benefits to starting an apprenticeship in childcare, including getting hands on experience with the children, support and guidance from our assessors, opportunities for progression and gaining a variety of skills.

So what can you do with an apprenticeship in childcare? Depending on your qualification, you could be doing anything from being a nursery practitioner to an Area Manager, the opportunities are endless.

Those who finish their Level 1 qualifications can gain functional skills and progress on to a Level 2 qualification where they gain a qualification in first aid, become a Nanny, Playworker, Childminding Assistant or an Assistant Practitioner.

Should you wish to progress on to a Level 3 you can become a Senior Practitioner, specialise as a SENCO, become a Childcare Assessor or even train to be an Occupational Therapist. Level 4 apprenticeships can lead to being promoted to a Room Leader, Deputy Manager, PANCO or Behaviour co-ordinator.

Anyone looking to gain a qualification that is equivalent to an undergraduate degree without wishing to go to university can qualify in Level 5 childcare and become an Area Manager, train to teach and even gain EYPS.

Don’t just take our word for it…

“I have a number of different responsibilities within my job role. I teach and look after children, I work with the SEN children and help alongside behaviour management. I have decided to study my Level 3 in childcare as I would like to become a senior practitioner or a room manager. I enjoy my job role and course as it allows me to learn new things every day! I would definitely recommend doing an apprenticeship to anyone who has been considering it! An apprenticeship is a great way to feel more confident within your job role”. Katarzyna Pisialek, Tops Nursery Practitioner

“Received so much support since I have begun my course and my assessor Kim is so welcoming and offers lots of advice and guidance on my level 3 childcare course! Best decision I have made in a long time was joining my course” Nicole
