Lucia Apter – 2019 Hall of Fame Winner!

The Aspire Training Team are delighted to announce Lucia Apter from Tops Day Nurseries Newport on the Isle of Wight as their 2019 inductee for the Aspire Hall of Fame!

Each month, Aspire Training Team chooses a learner nominated by their manager or assessor to be our learner of the month. Each year we pick one of those 12 learners to be inducted into our Hall of Fame! We are delighted to congratulate April’s Learner of the Month Lucia Apter from Tops Newport as the overall 2019 Hall of Fame winner.

Lucia started her Level 2 in Childcare in July 2018 when she was taken on as an apprentice within the nursery. She was nominated for Learner of the month in April for her commitment to her studies, the brilliant progress she was making, the exceptional skills she was showing with the children, and for her ability to step up and do a fantastic job of running the room she was in whilst the room manager was on annual leave.

Lucia was ultimately chosen as the winner for these reasons, but on top of this she was also observed by a member of the NDNA (National Day Nurseries Association) judging panel for nursery of the year around the time of her nomination whilst Lucia did a circle time activity with the children. The judge commented on how well Lucia had done not only keeping the children fully engaged but also how she took into consideration all the children’s needs so that all abilities could participate, and that it was lovely to see all the children having fun.

“Lucia is a wonderful practitioner who has the children’s interests at heart. She goes above and beyond in her job role and has wonderful relationships with all the children and their parents and is a true asset to our team.

Lucia was brilliant throughout her apprenticeship, she is hard working and had a real drive to complete her level 2 apprenticeship. From this Lucia has now gone on to completing her level 3 with Aspire and we are excited for her to complete the course so she can be level 3 qualified.

Lucia has lots of ideas and has helped change the environment within the Investigators room, she supports staff in the room and has great leadership skills.

We are so proud of Lucia for winning this award, no one deserves it more.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to Lucia for all her continuing hard work within the setting, we are excited for what the future holds with Lucia within the setting at Tops Newport.”

Hannah Jennings, Tops Newport Manager.

We are incredibly proud of how well Lucia performed during her Level 2 and we hope she continues to show the same passion and commitment now she has progressed onto her Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification.

Congratulations Lucia!
