Martin’s story – Business admin apprentice

Martin Bennett has recently joined the administration department at Hadland Care Group. Martin applied for a business administration apprenticeship with Aspire Training team and is currently working towards a level 2 qualification.

Why did you choose a Business Admin Apprenticeship?

I chose to apply for Hadland Care Group’s Business Admin apprenticeship role due to my knowledge of computers, I wanted to improve my computer skills further as well as my customer service skills within a working environment.

What do you hope to achieve by undertaking an apprenticeship at Hadland Care Group?

I hope to achieve more knowledge on Business Administration and customer service which will be used to help further myself in the future, with the help of Hadland Care Group I fully believe that I have found the job role perfect for me which I excel at.

How has undertaking an apprenticeship helped you to become work ready?

The apprenticeship has helped my confidence out a lot as a couple years ago I found it extremely difficult to communicate or talk to people due to my anxiety and shyness as well as using the phone to talk to people but due to the experience that I am getting with Hadland Care Group this has helped ease my anxiety a huge amount and now I am able to approach people and talk to them easily and my nervousness on the phones is literally gone too which is brilliant, I am also learning new things relating to the business side of things e.g. using Emailing/Word/Excel/Survey Monkey/Mail Chimp which has also been beneficial to my role.

How did you find out about Aspire Training Team?

I found out about Aspire online, I was looking for an apprenticeship to apply for online and I found an application for Hadland Care Group which I applied for and luckily enough I was offered an interview which went extremely well, the one thing that really helped me to be at ease at the interview was how friendly and welcoming the atmosphere is within the company.
