My experience in childcare started when I joined Tops Parkstone as an apprentice in 1999. I completed my NVQ level 2 and 3 in Early Years and Childcare and level 2 functional skills with Tops Training Team as we were known then. I have many years’ experience of working in a number of different roles within the nursery environment, starting with apprentice and finishing with office administrator/relief manager with nursery assistant and room supervisor in between.
I have also worked for the Hadland Care Group Head Office for a number of years as an administrator where I also gained my Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration, so have seen and experienced the business from a number of different angles.
I joined the Aspire Training Team in January 2017 and completed the Assessors Award through Aspire, which has enabled me to become a qualified Assessor. I have experience of assessing and supporting learners to gain their qualifications in Childcare. Expanding my role to support learners in meeting their functional skills requirements. I am able to assess at levels 2 – 4 and teach functional skills in Maths, English and ICT. I am lucky enough to visit many different sites throughout Dorset and support learners through their childcare qualifications.
I feel that my many years and different levels of experience within the nursery environment enable me to fully support learners and employers.
