Why did you choose an apprenticeship?
I was attending college when Covid hit, and remote learning wasn’t working well for me. I made the decision to drop out of college and sign on to a level 2 business admin course, which suited me and my learning style much better.
What do you love the most about your apprenticeship?
I like how it suits my learning style. I am a kinaesthetic learner, so learning while working really benefits me.
What accomplishment are you most proud of and why?
I am proud of how much my confidence has improved. I have a lot more faith and confidence in myself and my skills to complete my work, and I’m proud of how much I’ve learnt.
In your opinion, what are the benefits of an apprenticeship?
Getting a qualification in a specific line of work, while gaining experience, is a good way of setting yourself up for your future.
What skills have you develop during your time as an apprentice?
My time management has gotten a lot better – working in marketing, you often have to juggle multiple tasks at the same time, whilst making sure everything is completed in time. It’s hard sometimes, but I’m definitely getting better at it.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years’ time I’d like to own my own marketing agency. Having the knowledge of business admin is vital for this, so completing my apprenticeship will help me a lot.
What advice would you give to someone considering an apprenticeship?
Just go for it. Lots of people will say the only way to have a career is to go to university. I was sceptical that I would get to where I wanted to be if I didn’t go to uni, but as I’ve progressed, I’ve realised it is possible. Do whatever works best for you and go for it.
