National Apprenticeship Week 2016 is fast approaching and employers are being encouraged to commit to a number of new apprentice and trainee positions in their businesses. These pledges are being recorded on the recently launched Pledge-o-meter from now until the end of National Apprenticeship Week on 18th March 2016.
During 2015’s National Apprenticeship Week, 23,000 apprenticeships were pledged, a staggering increase from 20,000 the previous year. An events map is also on the website to track local events and activities that businesses and potential candidates can be involved with.
National Apprenticeship Week is organised by the National Apprenticeship Service to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on the people who become apprentices, employers and the economy. The government last year committed to creating 3 million apprentices in the UK by 2020. For more information on National Apprenticeship Week and how you can get involved, you can find toolkits for employers on the website.
