Level 1 Caring for Children Qualification

This is a fully funded qualification for 16 – 18 year olds. This level 1 qualification is a practical alternative to further education or a good way to start a new career which includes valuable work experience, mentor and tutor support on a 1:1 or group basis. As well as starting your learner on a new career path the group workshops are a fun, interactive and a practical way of learning.

It is possible to enrol on to this course at any time of the year.

We offer learners a free police check (DBS), free uniform, free resources and books, support with travel expenses and they may be eligible for an attendance bonus. This course is term time only and up to 24 hours a week.

The Level 1 is a recognised NCFE qualification course and provides your learner with a dedicated tutor who runs a practical workshop every week. For the rest of the time, they will be working in an early years setting getting hands-on experience and working with children.

What areas of childcare is covered in this course?

We cover a wide range of topics within childcare including:

• communication,
• child development,
• craft activities,
• music,
• healthy eating and,
• most importantly, how play encourages a child to learn.

On successful completion of enrolment, we will support your learner to continue into a paid Level 2 apprenticeship in Early Years or onto your chosen career path.
