I started my apprenticeship with Aspire studying level 2 business admin in the Aspire office. The support I received during my NVQ was amazing and I was able to complete my tasks quickly, because of this I was promoted to an admin assistant a couple of months after joining the company and transferred to Hadland Care Group, Aspire Training Team’s Head Office.
As an admin assistant, my job role included tasks such as minute taking, making and answering calls, ordering products and dealing with complaints and feedback. All of these topics were ones I could use within my NVQ, and I was able to choose the units I completed.
By the time I had completed my level 2 I immediately started my level 3. I was never overloaded with work and Aspire understood that although I was still training, I had a job to do too; all appointments were fitted around me. When my level 3 was done, I was appointed Marketing Assistant, a role in which points from both NVQ’s have benefitted me in some way.
My job role now includes the organising and running of events for a family of 16 nurseries, training team and 2 care homes. I am also responsible for updating social media, website blogs and updates, leaflet design briefs and orders and weekly feedback calls.
Through my apprenticeship I have met so many people, gained skills, confidence, responsibility, discovered a whole new career path and even managed the marketing department in the interim of my old manager leaving and a new manager starting.
I’d recommend anyone to do an apprenticeship. It is so much more beneficial than you’d think!
